Meet Manali!
Founder, Holistic Wellness Visionary
Namaste! I am Manali Thumar, Founder and Lead Yoga Educator, the heart behind Satvik Breath Yoga.
Yoga entered my life as more than just movement on the mat; it became my sanctuary-a way to heal, grow, and reconnect with myself and others. I began my personal practice in 2017, during a time of deep health and mental crisis. In a “do or die” moment, I found a lifeboat in yoga while drowning in the ocean of life’s ups and downs. Choosing this holistic path, I committed to healing on every level -physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.
With one year of consistent practice-not perfection, but steady dedication, I found myself on the other side of the crisis. The heaviness lifted, replaced by resilience, calm, and inner strength.
Today, I share this not as a prescription, but as a reminder: healing is possible, step by step, breath by breath. Yoga and a holistic lifestyle didn’t erase my challenges, but they gave me strength and awareness to navigate them with grace. What began as a personal practice soon blossomed into a calling "my IKIGAI "-to share this transformative power with others and with the community.
In 2023, I received my first certification as RYT200 from The Yoga Institute in Mumbai, India-the oldest organized yoga school in the world. I began teaching at a Community Yoga Club, serving as Chairperson until the end of the year. Although opening a studio wasn’t part of my original plan, the universe had other intentions. In April 2024, we founded Satvik Breath Yoga to bring yoga and wellness to our community. Our offerings include grounding and uplifting classes that encourage each student to listen inward and honor their unique journey. We also began serving organizations through employee wellness workshops, including Jersey Central and Power Limited.
In 2025, we expanded into Satvik Breath Yoga and Wellness Retreats, curating intentional, holistic travel experiences. Over this time, I also received my RYT500 Advanced Vinyasa certification from Sampoorna Yoga in Goa, India, and I continue my education in Yin, Prenatal, and Yoga Nidra. For me, yoga is not about achieving the “perfect” pose, it’s about how gracefully we enter and leave each posture, cultivating presence, awareness, balance, and compassion, both on and off the mat.
Beyond teaching, I work full-time as a scientist in the pharmaceutical industry. Outside of work and yoga, you’ll often find me hiking, walking in nature, exploring creativity with my children, soaking in the Caribbean sun, immersed in spiritual books, practicing meditative cooking, traveling, or simply enjoying life with my husband.
